Super excited to read Robin MacArthur's new novel Heart Spring Mountain about a woman who returns home to rural Vermont and connects with her family and their hidden past. As always, MacArthur seamlessly makes place one of the main characters. And that place is the overgrown hills and storm-swollen rivers and creaking farmhouses of Vermont.

My sentiment has always been that Vermont and New Hampshire are separated only by a river and an imaginary dotted line, but are very much kin. Glad to see MacArthur sneak that into her work, as well:
